Retail Reality

Every food entrepreneur dreams of seeing their product on store shelves. But what’s really involved? To give you an idea of what’s needed to break into the retail sector, we asked three Food Starter clients to share their stories. Richa Gupta of GOOD FOOD FOR GOOD, Dan Sennet of Bald Baker, and Kam Karamchi of Broya generously share their experiences in this three-part series.

Part 1: Initiating First Contact covers how to approach retailers, who to approach, and how to make yourself stand out.
Part 2: Conquering the Red Tape looks at paperwork including certification, audits, inspections, and crossing all those Ts.
Part 3: Maintaining the Love is set to go live on Thursday, July 19th.  Drop by the Food Starter blog to find out how to keep your product from getting bumped by the competition, ways to grow your presence, unexpected outcomes of retails success, and some hard-earned final thoughts.

Market Feasibility Boot Camp #8

Would you rather save time or money? How about both? Many start-ups waste resources and time learning what will and won’t work for their business. To combat this, Food Starter created our Marketing Feasibility Boot Camp (MFBC), a targeted, 12-week course designed specifically to help pre-revenue and early-stage food innovators arrive at that crucial go/no-go decision. MFBC reduces costly growing pains by taking clients through the necessary steps, in the right order. Topics include costing, R&D, business plans, commercial equipment sales, trends, packaging and more.

Not convinced? Here’s what past participants had to say:

Taking my market feasibility boot camp at food starter, it’s really eye opening and provides valuable information and insight into the food industry. — Angela Elizabeth Marie

If you are a Food Startup and not involved with the Food Starter you are going to waste years. The Food Starter can catapult your company into your future. — Zale Tabakman

Cohort 7 just presented their business plans to Food Starter Board members, innovative consultants and crowdfunding experts. Can you picture yourself at the table? Our next course begins on September 12, 2018. Space is limited. Apply right now to secure your spot
