Food Starter Meets Farm Boy

March 22, 2018

Food Starter Meets Farm Boy

We’re calling this a match made in food heaven. Farm Boy, one of Ontario’s best known fresh market stores, will be featuring produce from six Food Starter clients. With a focus on fresh, local, natural, and free-from foods, Farm Boy is a logical fit.

How’d We Do It?

Getting your product onto store shelves can be a challenge. With Farm Boy opening two stores in the area in February and March (Etobicoke and Hamilton) timing was critical. With this in mind, Sandy Somers, Food Starter’s Executive Director invited them to our facility to see and taste some of our clients’ products.
They came, they met, they tasted. We prepped food and pitched.
That was in December. It’s now March and we’re proud to announce the following Food Starter clients can be found on Farm Boy shelves.

  • Almondia: A new kind of almond beverage sources from sustainable orchards that don’t use irrigation. Tasting is believing.
  • Bald Baker: These tasty sugar-, dairy-, egg- and grain-free vegan brownies deliver taste without guilt.
  • Broya: Genuine, long-cooked bone broth good enough to drink as is.
  • GOOD FOOD FOR GOOD: Their goal isn’t just to make the best sauces and date-sweetened ketchup; they also want to end world hunger.
  • Jaswant’s Kitchen: This mother-daughter(s) team creates all-natural spice mixes that capture the authentic flavours of Punjab, India.
  • NONA Vegan: These creamy textured Italian-style vegan sauces are dairy- and gluten-free thanks to the not-so-secret ingredient of cashews.
