“If you can’t bring the people to the lemonade, then bring the lemonade to the people”

– Cheryl Appleton

Here at Food Starter we are lucky to have an array of amazing experts who run workshops and seminars for the entrepreneurs participating in the Food Commercialization Program. Among them is Supply Chain 101 Expert, Cheryl Appleton of Canadian Women in Food.

They do so by creating connections, and nourishing the organization with passion, inspiration and expertise of the food industry to help accelerate business action.

Cheryl has been a food industry professional for more than 22 years and is commonly referred to as an “Architect of Ideas”. With her exceptional communication and leadership skills, Cheryl is a valuable trainer and mentor to Food Commercialization Program entrepreneurs.

In her 4-hour workshop, Cheryl covers the basics food entrepreneurs need to know about supply chain. She starts off each session by opening a discussion regarding the participants’ experiences with Supply Chain. This leads into a more detailed conversation about Supply Chain Management process. In the third part, Cheryl discusses awareness and opportunity within markets, bringing the workshop to a close all participants armed with the know-how to create a purchasing and negotiation strategy.

“Cheryl was impressive in presenting the overall concept of supply chain management, and what’s even more – how effective and seamless should integration be between different parts of the chain in order to drive profit.”

– Yury Gerasimchuk of M-Vector Canada Inc.

If you missed her workshop in June, not to worry! We will be running Supply Chain 101 twice a year, so watch our website for upcoming dates!
